BIO IT COALITION ANNUAL AWARDS FOR BEST PRACTICES IN BIO IT

Help cutting edge technologies gain recognition and awareness
Build interest in funding and alliances for Bio and IT

The BIO IT Coalition Best Practices Awards recognize individuals or companies for information technology/ life science contributions that result in product innovation, growth, leadership, and increased funding for BIO IT Industry undertakings.

Bio IT Award Categories

Business Catalyst of the Year

This award will go to a financial partner recognized for supporting individuals or companies whose innovative ideas resulted in advances in Bio IT, business, and society.

 

Company of the Year

This award will go to the company whose imagination, innovation and intelligent risk-taking in the application of IT in the life sciences has led to the most dramatic progress in the advancement of BIO IT either through its own development or its influence on the industry.

 

Entrepreneur of the Year
(New in 2006)

This award will be presented to the individual(s) whose vision, leadership, and business skills have combined the life science and IT disciplines to create or grow a highly successful Bio IT enterprise.  Proven excellence and achievement in formation of business infrastructure, raising capital and/or revenue, product creation and development, and/or creation and maintenance of strategic alliances will be considered.

 

Innovation of the Year

This award will be granted for the best application of IT to a life science product or service.  It will be judged on measurable improvement in productivity, process methodology, or the clarity of scientific communication.

 

Visionary of the Year

This award will go to an individual whose knowledge, leadership and energy have helped the BIO IT industry gain recognition and advancement.

 

Praise the efforts of those YOU wish to recognize.

Nomination Rules

  • All nominations must be submitted on an official BIO IT Coalition Form (PDF Form) (HTML Form). To nominate your choices, download the PDF form, fill it out and Fax it to: 202.220.1665 - Attention: Judi Giannini OR save the HTML form as a file with a new name on your computer, open it in MSWord, fill it out, resave it, and e-mail it to mandelle@bioitcoalition.org.  Please use one form for each nomination. 
  • You may nominate your own company!!!
  • Nominations will be accepted through April 12, 2006. The BIO IT Coalition will announce finalists at http://www.bioitcoalition.org/ by April 26.  All winners will be notified and invited to attend the awards dinner and ceremony at the 2006 annual conference on May 04. 

 


Eligibility

Awardees may be in R&D, scientific facilities, labs, biotech companies, IT and Software companies, pharmaceuticals, academia, government, medicine, and public or private research institutions.  They may also be in funding organizations, economic development agencies or other supportive organizations that enable and encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in Bio IT.

 


Benefits of participation

  • Winners will receive a personalized award citing their accomplishment.
  • All finalists will receive a certificate in recognition of their achievements.
  • Winners will be profiled in the program for the BIO IT Coalition's 2006 Annual Conference "Using Advanced Information Technologies to Develop Personalized Medicine/Healthcare" on May 4-5. Finalists will also be listed.
  • Finalists will be listed in two Press Releases for the event in the weeks before the event and in ads for the event to appear in Bio-IT World and the Washington Business Journal.
  • Winners will be profiled in post event news releases and stories.
  • All winners will be invited, as guests of the Coalition to the conference awards dinner on May 4.  They will meet and network with our members, speakers, and other dignitaries who will be invited as our guests.
