From systems biology and in silico modeling to cheminformatics and electronic data capture, Bio-IT World shows how predictive information is the key to improving the efficiency of drug discovery, all the way through clinical trials. Critical to the goal of modeling and exploiting information is the IT and informatics infrastructure
-- the hardware and software that facilitates the creation of databases, text mining and the conversion of information into hypotheses, models, and conclusions. Subscriptions are complementary for qualifying life science professionals.

Early Stage East is the initial venture capital showcase for promising young companies. We serve as a gathering place for entrepreneurs and those organizations funding and servicing them in order to enable them to grow and succeed.
Early Stage East was founded in 1998 as a non-profit organization and has grown from a single-day venture capital fair to a year-round series of programs & events. Our events showcase entrepreneurs from up and down the East Coast in order for them to effectively obtain venture capital and successfully start break-away businesses.

The Northern Virginia Technology Council's BioMedTech Committee focuses on promoting the convergence of the Biosciences and Information Technology which is at the leading edge of medicine and therapeutic product development. Significant progress is being made in academia and industry in combining biotechnology, information technology, and engineering to address the challenges of modern medicine. Arguably, this progress is becoming faster and faster when it comes to developing knowledge (e.g., genetic information useful for predictive medicine, high throughput screening for "druggable" targets, manufacturing technologies that create efficiency, computer modeling of diseases and therapeutic product activity). Yet, when it comes to using this knowledge to create therapeutic solutions, development is slow and costly, and we are less productive in combining the resources of multiple disciplines.

PGBase, developed by the Future Science Group, is an exciting new database for all those involved in the fields of pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine. Featuring a constantly expanding resource of Drug, Gene, Company, Diagnostic, Biomarker and Disease profiles, together with news stories, journal articles and press releases, PGBase is the only database offering comprehensive coverage of this important area of research. Including all the latest advances in the field, as well as detailed histories of all the drugs that have already been discovered to be affected by genetic mutations, PGBase is the one-stop dynamic solution for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
Advances in pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine are facilitating the development of therapeutics tailored toward specific diseases in specific individuals. Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Medicine, published by the Future Science Group, are journals which provide readers with expert commentary and analysis on developments within these rapidly advancing fields of research. Pharmacogenomics focuses on those aspects of most direct relevance to industrial and academic R&D scientists, and to the wider clinical community while Personalized Medicine translates recent genomic and proteomic advances into the clinical context. Each journal is subject to rigorous peer review, with three independent evaluations of each article, and industry-leading publication times.
