CLEMENT BEZOLD WILL DISCUSS "FUTURE WORLD AROUND BIO IT" AT BIO IT COALITION CONFERENCE

Futurist Clement Bezold will discuss "The Future World around Bio IT" as a wrap-up for the first day's sessions at the third annual BIO IT Opportunities: Innovation and Partnership Conference on April 27-28, 2004, at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner. Dr. Bezold will speak at 4:45 p.m, Tuesday, April 27.

As president of the Institute for Alternative Futures in Alexandria, Dr. Bezold will discuss societal values, corporate social responsibility, business models in health care, regulation, health care policy and financing directions as well parallel advances in disease knowledge.

New to the Conference this year will be an "Opportunities in Bio-IT" session from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., on Tuesday, April 27. Representatives of pre-selected emerging growth companies with innovative technologies will be given the opportunity to make 15-minute one-on-one presentations about their business opportunities/technologies to senior decision-makers from some of the well known pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in the Washington, D.C., region.

Peter Mueller, Ph.D., CSO of Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Inc., will be the luncheon speaker at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. He will discuss the State of the Pharmaceutical Industry. At 8:30 a.m., April 28, Robert MacWright, executive director of the Patent Foundation at the University of Virginia, will speak on "Dirty Little Tricks People Play in Licensing."
